A large national charity is seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Development Officer to lead and manage the delivery of safeguarding strategy enabling the charity to deliver on its responsibilities for safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.


The Main Duties include:

- Ensuring the safeguarding strategy is implemented effectively, including periodic review and evaluation

- Leading, developing, reviewing and monitoring the safeguarding policies and procedures and ensuring that these are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders

- Identifying and analysing relevant safeguarding and related policy developments

- Promoting partnerships internally and externally to facilitate the effective safeguarding arrangements

- Producing a range of written materials for the dissemination of safeguarding policy and research information for internal and external use


The key skills required include:

- Previous experience of dealing with safeguarding policies

- Proven history of developing, writing and implementing project plans

- Strong partnership and development skills

- Excellent research and evaluation skills

- An in depth knowledge and understanding of legislation, guidance, policy and practice regarding safeguarding children and vulnerable adults

This position can be based in a number of offices in southern England.
