F/t & P/t* Community Support Workers

Richmond Fellowship
£14,304 pa (pro rata for p/t)
Permanent
Full Time
Darlington

Giving thousands of people each year a new sense of purpose and fulfilment, we’re one of the UK’s biggest providers of mental health care. Join us in Darlington, and become part of the most innovative mental health organisation in the country.

As a Community Support Worker, you’ll help us develop and deliver a flexible new floating support service in Darlington. Working during office hours, but also with an on-call facility, it will provide essential assistance to a complex needs client group with mental health issues – many of whom have been affected by homelessness.

Flexibility is essential, as you’ll work varied hours from week to week depending on the needs of the service. Providing expert advice and practical assistance to our clients, you’ll give them all the support they need to lead fuller, happier and more independent lives.

You’ll develop personally-tailored support plans for clients, and make sure they’re receiving all the benefits they’re entitled to. You’ll also build strong links with other service providers, including benefits agencies, healthcare professionals, social services and housing departments.

With experience in a relevant field, you’ll ideally have worked with people who have mental health problems before. It’s important that you’re an excellent communicator and problem-solver who’s comfortable doing your own admin and working under pressure. Finally, you must share our commitment to tenant participation, and have the ability to prioritise your own workload.

We offer great benefits, including 25 days’ holiday per year, contributory pension scheme, employee assistance programme and childcare vouchers.

*Hours are flexible.
