Walking, climbing and trekking These are great fun for individuals who want to spend a weekend away walking or climbing in the hills with their friends, or for companies looking for team-building events for their employees. They are also a fantastic way to raise money for WaterAid! Current events New! The Big Challenge The launch event for 2012's UK Coffee Week. The Big Challenge is a sponsored 10km around the River Thames carrying up to 10L of water for 5km. This represents the difficult daily struggle of fetching water by women and children in rural Africa. The sponsored walk raises funds for WaterAid's work in the Mbulu district of Tanzania. The Big Challenge takes place on Sunday 15 April 2012 and registration is now open. New! Rob Roy Challenge - 23 June 2012 WaterAid200 The very first WaterAid200 Mountain Challenge takes place on Saturday 16 June. The event aims to see a team of 4-7 walkers on top of 200 mountains across the UK and Ireland. More details and registration coming in January 2012. Severn Trent Mountain and Cycle Challenge The Severn Trent Mountain and Cycle Challenge asks teams of four to six people to trek 10, 20 or 30 miles or cycle up to 60 miles in the Peak District. This year's challenge is taking place on Saturday 30 June 2012 and registration is open now. 6 Peaks Challenge The aim of the 6 Peaks Challenge is to visit the summits of the highest peaks of the six regions of the British Isles: Isle of Man, Wales, England, Scotland, Ulster and the Republic of Ireland, all within 72 hours! The next 6 Peaks Challenge will take place between Friday 6 to Monday 9 July 2012 and registration is open now. Coast Along for WaterAid Coast Along for WaterAid is a national walking event for all the family, taking place on spectacular coastal paths all over the country. It takes place on Saturday 15 September 2012. Registration will open in 2012. For more information Click Here
