Job description.
1 The overall objective of this position is to support the PG in its endeavours to bolster Alliance2015 cooperation within the areas of humanitarian and development work. This entails support to more and better cooperation among Alliance2015 partners in the field.

2. The Senior Executive Officer (SEO) will advise the PG on policies to that effect.

3. The SEO will closely cooperate with the field offices of Alliance2015 members to explore the potentials for inter-agency cooperation, to overcome the constraints for increased cooperation and to facilitate the implementation of joint initiatives by two or more Alliance2015 members. Special attention will be given to making progress in 6 selected pilot countries.

More specifically the SEO will:
4. Help to develop practical tools to explore at field level options and constraints for bilateral/trilateral cooperation

5. Link potential areas of cooperation to fundraising opportunities. Help identify potential sources (embassy level, EU and other multilateral institutions, private donors and foundations etc.). Advise and provide quality checks to applications for funding.

6. Strike a balance between implementation and facilitation. In some cases the SEO will have to prepare the ground work him/her self whereas in others s/he should revert to mere assistance and advice to others.

7. The SEO will act as the executive secretary of the Programme Group

The SEO will report directly to the chair of the PG and will ensure that the President of Alliance2015 is informed regularly and when special initiatives / situations occur.
