Every week, Look Ahead support around 4,000 people across London and the South-East. People who, without our support, might be living on the streets, or struggling to cope with daily life. We offer them a home, support and stability and help them to move towards a more independent future.
Here at Look Ahead, our Tower Hamlets Floating Support Service works with around 460 vulnerable people in the local community, who have a wide range of needs. As part of this team, you’ll visit them in their own homes and out in the community, offering wide-ranging practical and emotional support.
Through your work, you’ll help vulnerable people in the community to maintain their tenancies, find jobs and training opportunities, access the healthcare they need – and generally lead fuller, happier and more independent lives. You’ll also maintain up-to-date records. You may be delivering this support during the daytime, in the evenings or on weekends, so a flexible approach is essential.
These aren’t easy roles, but they’re hugely rewarding and they represent a great opportunity to begin your career in this sector. If you’re a good team player who can build a rapport with all kinds of people, we offer excellent support and training, as well as the chance to make a real difference to vulnerable people’s lives. If you have any specific questions about the role, please telephone Erika Loughlin or Suzanne Breckenridge on 020 7481 7794. Ref: 3069.
Applications from all minority groups are positively welcomed.
Closing date: 12 March 2010.
