Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a fatal disease of the brain and central nervous system. It leaves people locked into a failing body, unable to move, walk and talk. The mind is usually unaffected. In the UK, five people die of MND every day.
The MND Association exists to ensure that people with MND can achieve the highest quality of life possible, and to fund and promote research to bring an end to MND. We have over 3000 active volunteers, 150 staff and an annual income of £13m.
Legacies provide the single largest source of income to the Association and we are seeking a self motivated and well organised individual to take up this key role within the Operations and Finance Team.
Reporting to the Team Director the role requires someone with a high level of administrative and IT skills, a high standard of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to take responsibility for completion of work without direct supervision is essential.
The duties include maintaining the legacy data base, producing regular and ad hoc reports and corresponding with Solicitors and members of the public.
A minimum of five years administrative/secretarial experience is needed and previous knowledge or experience of the administration of personal estates would be useful and a background in a professional office may be an advantage. Candidates will be reliable, flexible, cheerful and willing to contribute fully to the work of the Association.
