As a Volunteer Co-ordinator with v, you’ll help us inspire a new generation of volunteers - reflecting our goal of making voluntary work something that all young people want to do. You’ll achieve this by providing essential support to our young leaders programme - an exciting scheme to engage young people in community projects, influenced by the Olympics values.

Providing essential support to around 100 young volunteer leaders - and helping them develop their skills - you’ll enable them to deliver effective projects in their communities. This will mean liaising with a wide range of local organisations, as you ensure that all activities are delivered on time and to plan. You’ll see to it that everything we do is informed by the thoughts and opinions of young people.

Managing the relevant budgets and resources, you’ll promote volunteering through varied recruitment and publicity strategies. We’ll expect you to arrive with a fully formed understanding of youth involvement, and to advocate its benefits within and beyond our organisation.

A qualified youth worker with strategic vision and a flair for coaching, mentoring and engaging young people, you’ll have a track record of planning projects and working with large groups to deliver them. You’ll have proved yourself capable of motivating, inspiring and supporting young volunteers – identifying new opportunities, translating these into action, and enabling young people to take the lead in designing and delivering projects.

It’s also important that you’re a skilled problem solver and networker, with a good knowledge of MS Office and an insight into the workings of the voluntary and community sector. The ability to work evenings and weekends is essential, and you must have access to your own transport.
