Donor Relations Team Fundraising Intern for International Inspiration

Unicef

Voluntary (unpaid)
Part Time
London

UNICEF UK raises funds for UNICEF’s worldwide development and emergency work and advocates for lasting change for the world’s children.

The Donor Relations Team (DRT) is a department within UNICEF UK’s National Fundraising Team, which raises over £40 million annually for UNICEF’s work. The DRT covers fundraising from both private individuals (Major Donors) and Trusts and Foundations. As well as fundraising for UNICEF’s work with children around the world, DRT is also currently engaged in raising £12 million for International Inspiration – the international social legacy programme of London 2012 Olympics. International Inspiration aims to transform the lives of 12 million children in 20 countries by 2012 through the power of sport.

We are currently looking for an intern to support a Donor Relations Manager and Donor Relations Executive by undertaking research, administration and project work to enable them to maximise support from major donors for International Inspiration. You will carry out research, administration, project work and events support to help us raise more funds for our sports programmes for International Inspiration. The placement is for 3 days a week for six months.

You will have experience of conducting research through various media (internet, publications, database and telephone) and be able to produce a range of written communications for different audiences. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, good IT skills and familiarity with MS Office. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, as is flexibility in being able to manage your own workload and provide support to others. Experience of database-use, good problem-solving skills and an interest in fundraising and international development are desirable.

This position will provide excellent experience of working in a professional fundraising team in an international charity. You will also have the opportunity to attend regular briefings from field office staff on UNICEF’s work, as well as occasional lectures and events.

UNICEF will reimburse reasonable travel costs and cover lunch expenses.

CVs will not be accepted.
